Little things (and some not-so-little) that have made a big difference …
- Calendar entries made on the iPhone or Mac appear on the other, but not on the iPad. hmm, the iPad is not talking to the cloud – resetting the WiFi modem solved the problem.
- a new computer and the remembered email password is lost … and found (reset)
- so that’s how you add (and remove) icons in Windows
- pictures are no longer duplicated when loading new ones
- form letter merged with mailing list … much simpler than one-by-one
- over 4000 pictures, many of them duplicated – how do I get them organized?
- I need to create MS Word formatted documents on my iPad
- copying internet-based images into a PowerPoint slide is easy … once you know how!
- email can be sent to groups in Yahoo mail when you think in terms of “lists”
- changed an Apple ID on all devices: the email previously used was hacked & sending out spam
- reconciling a checkbook is hard for some; making it match QuickBooks after incomplete data entered for over three years made the task daunting. “Adjusting transactions” got everything in balance without having to enter all that historical information.
- a retired medical doctor just needed to know how to do the basics (that somebody else used to do for him)
- recovered the data from a very out of date Goldmine corrupted database
- “remind me one more time how to attach a picture to an email”
- “with your help meeting me at the computer store, I’m sure I purchased the right computer”
- after many years raising kids, I am returning to the workforce and want to know how to use Outlook and other technology
- scanning from the computer allows much more control than using the multifunction printer control panel
- finding the zoom button in Word so the text is easier to see
- Outlook automatic send/receive stopped
- the new printer has WAY too many parts to put together
- speaker icon went missing
- back to school & the professor wants paragraphs double spaced with one-inch margins.
- email history moved from Windows PC to Mac.
